Hyper-Realistic Resin Sculptures of Dangling Korean Noodles

Artist Seung Yul Oh recreates common Korean noodle dishes, but with a spectacular twist. Using synthetic resin, a pair of chopsticks float 12-feet-high, with dangling noodles flowing all the way down into the bowl.

    All of those look good.

  • "Life is amazing. And then it’s awful. And then it’s amazing again. And in between the amazing and awful it’s ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That’s just living heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life. And it’s breathtakingly beautiful."

My therapist told me something meaningful yesterday. She said:
“It’s important to remember that when you’re depressed you have to nurse yourself and be extra gentle towards yourself. Just like an athlete wouldn’t break an ankle then force themselves to run that ankle. They rest as it heals and do not think ‘I am a failed athlete,’ they think, ‘right now something isn’t working so i’ll take care of myself until it does.’

Just like a broken bone, depression can change the way your daily life plays out, and pushing yourself too hard and getting frustrated when you don’t feel better is just like trying to run on that broken ankle and getting frustrated when it doesn’t heal.”

“People don’t look at you and see your body. They don’t measure the space between your thighs or the width around your stomach. That doesn’t happen. People see your pretty smile and your soft hair and your cheeks red from the cold and your eyes. They hear your laugh and your sentences and your jokes and your ideas. There is so much more than this tiny human vessel you were given. Your legs can walk and your brain can think and your hands can feel. You could walk anywhere. You could cut all your hair off. The possibilities are endless and you were given this life, this opportunity, to explore and to create and to love and be loved back.
You are not your body. You are the songs you sing and the friends you make and the words you write and the places you go. I believe in you. I really do. You are going to do something so great in this world. You can share ideas and teach so many people. Please take care of yourself. Give your body fuel so it can think and smile and be healthy. Please.” —Please eat, ghstpjs
